PRP (platelet-rich plasma) is blood plasma that has been enriched with platelets. PRP is a concentrated source of autologous platelets containing ample growth factors and other cytokines that stimulate healing of bone and soft tissue. PRP consists a concentrated fluid full of healthy growth factors. Plasma is composed of about 90% water, 9% organic matter, and 1% mineral. It makes up about 55% of total blood volume.
